China’s education expenditure reaches $357 Billion
Public expenditure on education in China reached 2.2 trillion yuan (357 billion U.S. dollars) in 2012, accounting for 4 percent of its GDP, the Ministry of Finance said on May 8. China originally planned to raise the government’s input on education to 4 percent of GDP by the end of 2000, but did not achieve the goal until last year.
